The Beauty of the Last Agni Kai

The final showdown between Zuko and Azula remains one of the most beautiful scenes in Avatar: The Last Airbender and maybe even the follow up series The Legend of Korra.

I just love how the colours of their destructive firebending clash against one another and spiral across the air.

Not only is it visually appealing, but also a pleasure to listen to.

I still think that this is the most breath-taking and most intense battle in Avatar history.

Can we take a moment to admire what was considered style in the 90s.

Can we take a moment to admire the fact that his reply is “‘Cause our kids would look like horses.” He does not say, “I can’t marry another guy!” or anything along those lines. 

Also, can we take a moment to appreciate Shawn’s expression in Panel 3? Note how he doesn’t throw himself out of his chair in disgust or shout a one-off about how ‘gay’ that idea is?
